SWAG合集 (ANU) is seeking a dedicated student engagement officer based in Beijing, to work within SWAG合集China Centre, which is wholly owned by ANU.

The position will support Student Engagement Manager to contribute to the formulation and implementation of the university's student-centred services in China, including employability and career services, alumni services and any other events organisation services for SWAG合集students and alumni in China. The role will entail building effective relationships with employers and related service providers in China. 

Key duties:

  • 聻   Facilitate Student Engagement Manager and SWAG合集China team to organize and implement SWAG合集events in major cities of China
  • 聻   Under the direction of the Student Engagement Manager to work with student career advisory stakeholders, including Career Office internally and key companies/organizations as external stakeholders, to ensure the smooth message delivery in two ways
  • 聻   Organize a program of career and employability events and workshops (online and offline for current SWAG合集students and recent alumni.)
  • 聻   Keep frequent communication with active alumni and alumni groups in Mainland China, and assist with alumni event organization
  • 聻   Handle or help to forward student queries to relevant departments of ANU
  • 聻   Undertake other high-priority tasks of institutional importance, as assigned by SWAG合集China Centre Director and Student Engagement Manager
  • 聻   Occasional travel within Mainland China on behalf of the University may be required

Essential:

  • 聻   Proficient event management skills
  • 聻   Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proven experience in liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including the ability to develop and maintain constructive relationships
  • 聻   Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to use initiative, investigate issues, collect and analyze data and to make evidence-based decisions.
  • 聻   Good understanding of working in multicultural environment
  • 聻   Proven ability to work well within a team environment as well as to independently organize
  • work priorities, multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
  • 聻   Native-level Mandarin Chinese and advanced spoken and written English skills to be able to communicate effectively with external stakeholders and SWAG合集internal colleagues
  • 聻   High proficiency in the use of computer-based, office information systems, in particular, spreadsheets, databases, web applications and word processing

Desirable:

Knowledge and life experience with the Australian education system and institutions highly regarded. SWAG合集graduates are encouraged to apply.  

Availability:

The position is open to Chinese nationals. The successful candidate will be recruited through SWAG合集China Centre as an SWAG合集local based staff.  The candidate is expected to start this position full-time as soon as possible. The role will require possible domestic travel within mainland China. 

Reporting line:

The position will report directly to Student Engagement Manager, SWAG合集China Centre.
