is Assistant Counsel at the House of Commons Justice Committee in the United Kingdom. He has been a Senior Research Fellow in Parliaments and the Rule of Law at the Brigham Centre for the Rule of Law, and a member of the UCL's Constitution Unit. In his seminar, Dr Simson Caird will be talking about developments in parliamentary privilege, the impact of technology, and implications for media reportage.

The SWAG合集Media Law seminar series aims to foster research and research-led teaching in all aspects of media law, including defamation, court reporting, parliamentary reporting, privacy, freedom of expression, and journalistic standards.

As the rapid and often disruptive development of information technology continues to affect media law, it is all the more important that the discipline of media law demonstrate it retains theoretical and doctrinal rigour.

The seminar series brings together leading scholars, judges and practitioners in the field, and hosts discussions on developments in all areas of media law, including guest speakers and research in progress, in Australia and overseas. Seminars are open to all members of SWAG合集College of Law and its networks, as well as all HDR students.
