The Celebration of Giving returns

16 Nov 2022

SWAG合集donors and volunteers were recently welcomed back to campus to celebrate the impact of their giving.

It was the first time the SWAG合集Celebration of Giving has been held in three years, providing a wonderful opportunity for the SWAG合集donor and volunteer community to come together in person and celebrate the impact of their collective generosity.

Upon arriving at Manning Clark Hall in the Kambri Cultural Centre, guests enjoyed a fine selection of canap茅s and drinks, and were treated to a musical performance by SWAG合集School of Music alumnus and Yil Lull studio leader, Will Kepa.

Karlie Noon, SWAG合集Master of Astronomy and Astrophysics student, and the event's MC, opened the afternoon's formal festivities.

Ngambri elder Dr Aunty Matilda House welcomed guests to Country.

SWAG合集Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Brian P. Schmidt, thanked donors and volunteers for the positive difference they make to SWAG合集students, research and the ambitions of the University.

The afternoon's celebration culminated in a presentation by Associate Professor Kim Cunio, Head of the SWAG合集School of Music, titled The Sound of Space. Combining art and science, this unique performance captures the Earth's natural sounds - normally not audible to the human ear - transforming the eerie and unusual tones into a stirring musical composition.
